On 17 April 2026, the Hong Kong Education University (EdUHK) Robotics Team, in collaboration with the Inspire Education Association, organised the “Sky Explorers: SEN Drone Journey” programme at Lions Clubs International Tseung Chui King College. The programme used interactive drone activities to help students with special educational needs (SEN) engage with STEM technology in a fun and relaxed way, promoting digital inclusion.
The programme mainly utilised Tello EDU drones. Students started by learning the basic structure of the drones, gradually understanding how they work. Under the guidance of instructors, they had the opportunity to control the drones themselves – taking off, landing, and performing simple flight manoeuvres – experiencing the joy and sense of achievement that flying brings. The atmosphere on site was enthusiastic, and through hands-on operation and interactive learning, students deepened their understanding of technology applications.
The event also covered drone safety rules and basic legal regulations, including no‑fly zones and correct operating procedures. This helped students develop safety awareness and a responsible attitude towards using technology while enjoying the experience.
By combining learning with hands‑on practice, students not only improved their concentration and reaction skills but also built self‑confidence through successful drone control, sparking their interest in exploring technology. This programme is dedicated to providing SEN students with more opportunities to access innovative technology, broadening their learning horizons and promoting STEM education and social inclusion.

We would like to extend our special thanks to Dr. Tiffany HL Sin for leading the session. Dr. Sin is a Academic Coordinator and Lecturer in the Early Childhood and Elementary Education Division of the School of Continuing Education at Hong Kong Baptist University. She guided parents to deepen their understanding of gifted education, helping participants realise that supporting gifted children is not just about “how to teach”, but more importantly, understanding the unique traits and real needs of gifted children.
Beyond knowledge exchange, the event focused on providing emotional support and positive emotional experiences for parents. In a relaxed and friendly environment, parents were willing to share, listen to each other, and offer one another strength. Witnessing the warmth and empathy among peers was the most precious part of this tea gathering.
Organised by the Hong Kong Professional Airline Pilots Association and co-organised by the Inspire Education Association, the “Aviation Workshop (Session 2)” was successfully held on 20 March 2026. Students from ESF Renaissance College Hong Kong (RCHK) were specially invited to participate in this event, where a series of interactive experiences guided them into the world of aviation and allowed them to explore the knowledge and excitement behind flight.
During the event, a seasoned airline captain shared his authentic flight training experiences. His journey from trainee to captain deeply captivated the students. Through interactive games, the captain also illustrated the critical role of memory and concentration in flight operations, transforming professional knowledge into an engaging learning experience that inspired new ways of thinking.
The highlight of the workshop was undoubtedly the flight simulation experience. Under the guidance of professional instructors, students had the opportunity to operate advanced simulators, trying their hand at take-off, navigation, and landing. Through this, they not only experienced the realism of flying but also gained valuable insight into the diverse career pathways within the aviation industry.
This workshop was more than just an experience – it was a seed of aspiration. We extend our gratitude to the students of Renaissance College for their enthusiastic participation, which filled the event with energy and joy. May every student carry forward this inspiration, take control of their own journey, and bravely soar towards their own skies.
Inspire Education Association organised a “Shenzhen Greater Bay Area Two-Day-One-Night Study Tour” for students of The Education University of Hong Kong on 14-15 March 2026, leading them deep into Shenzhen – a pioneering city of technological innovation – to experience firsthand the integration of high-tech advancements and sustainable development.
On the first day of the tour, students visited Shenzhen Technology University. In addition to touring the campus facilities, they gained deeper insights into the university’s innovative model for cultivating application-oriented talents. Subsequently, the team went to the “Shenzhen Bay Integration and Innovation Centre” under the Daya Bay Science and Technology Innovation Group, focusing on the latest developments in unmanned systems and the low-altitude economy, and witnessing how technology is reshaping the urban future.
The second day’s itinerary centred around technology and environmental protection. In the morning, the teachers and students visited the Shenzhen Science and Technology Museum (New Pavilion). Through interactive exhibits and cutting-edge technology displays, they experienced the charm of STEAM education and the boundless possibilities of future technology. In the afternoon, they visited the Nanshan Energy Ecological Park to learn about waste-to-energy technologies and see firsthand how the concept of sustainable development is being put into practice in a metropolitan setting.
This study tour not only broadened the students’ horizons but also promoted the integration of interdisciplinary knowledge, inspiring them to contemplate the connections between education, technology, and the environment.
